These are small Roman coins of the late fourth and fifth centuries the size of a pencil eraser. These miniscule coins were the last commercial bulwark before the dark ages set in after the fall of Rome. They are difficult to clean and challenging to attribute with many cleaning up to have very little detail left. The upside? Fifth century coins abound in rare and "exotic" emperors whose coins are highly prized by collectors because of their rarity and the haunting, bizarre and crude style of the engraving style prevalent during this time period. $10.00 for 5 coins.
